Green Electric Bus Attacked in Islamabad
A Green Electric Bus on the Nilore–Khanna Pul route was attacked when unidentified individuals hurled stones at the vehicle, shattering its windows.
The assault caused panic among passengers, many of whom feared for their safety as the bus came to a halt.
CDA Chairman Chaudhry Muhammad Ali Randhawa took notice of the incident and ordered an immediate investigation.
He said those responsible deserve no leniency and stressed the city administration will not compromise the Green Urban Transport initiative.
CDA sources suggested the attack may be linked to local transporters reportedly dissatisfied with the growing popularity of the Green Electric Bus service.

Officials added that similar assaults have occurred on other routes in the past, allegedly carried out by groups seeking to disrupt modern transport services.
The CDA confirmed that a formal complaint has been registered with the police, who have been tasked with identifying and apprehending the perpetrators to prevent further disruptions.
The company operating the electric buses said its fleet has faced attacks before, and a damage assessment is underway to determine the financial loss.
The operator called on authorities to strengthen security measures to ensure uninterrupted service for commuters.
