Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission has announced the Chinese Government Scholarship High-Level Postgraduate Program 2026 for Master’s and PhD studies at Tianjin University in China.
According to information shared by the HEC, the fully funded scholarship is open to outstanding Pakistani students in engineering, sciences, management, humanities, and social sciences.
The programme is described as highly competitive and is aimed at attracting strong international candidates for postgraduate studies.
The application deadline for the scholarship is January 18, 2026. Tianjin University is currently offering 104 Master’s and 125 PhD programmes, including 29 Master’s and 55 PhD programmes taught in English.

Under the scholarship, selected students will receive full tuition coverage, accommodation or a housing subsidy, medical insurance, and a monthly stipend of CNY 3,500 for both Master’s and PhD studies. The scholarship does not cover international airfare.
The award is granted for the full duration of the degree, subject to satisfactory academic performance. Applicants are required to have a minimum GPA of 3.2 out of 4.0 or an equivalent qualification.
PhD applicants must have at least one published research paper. Language requirements include IELTS with a minimum score of 6.0 or TOEFL with at least 80 marks for English-taught programmes, while HSK Level 5 is mandatory for programmes taught in Chinese.
Applicants must also meet the academic and language requirements of their chosen programme. The HEC has clarified that it will have no financial liability related to the scholarship, and further details are available on its website.
