The postponement followed major disruptions across Islamabad and Rawalpindi after Tehreek e Labbaik Pakistan staged protests outside the United States Embassy.

Authorities imposed Section 144 in Rawalpindi and blocked several entry points between the twin cities to maintain law and order effectively.

Containers and barriers were placed at major routes, including Faizabad Interchange, to restrict the movement of protesters and avoid potential clashes.

Internet services across the twin cities were temporarily suspended by the authorities as part of enhanced precautionary security measures.

The Higher Education Commission said the decision was taken to protect candidates and ensure the smooth conduct of the postponed examinations under peaceful conditions.
