Jacobabad Landlord Forces Youth to Seek Forgiveness Over Social Media Comment

A video circulating on social media has revealed a distressing incident in Jacobabad where a youth, holding the Holy Quran, was compelled to beg for forgiveness from an influential landlord for merely commenting on a social media post.

The footage, reportedly shot in Nizam Uddin Mastoi village of Mubarak Pur Union Council, shows the youth pleading for pardon under duress. His mother is also seen beseeching the landlord, removing her dupatta in anguish as a symbolic gesture reflecting their desperation.

Allegations suggest that the landlord used his influence to intimidate the youth and his family, sparking widespread condemnation across social circles. Many citizens have called for a transparent investigation and appropriate legal actions to address the misconduct.

In response, Senior Superintendent of Police Faizan Ali has ordered a formal inquiry into the matter. The investigation will be led by the Deputy Superintendent of Police, with the SSP assuring that strict legal proceedings will follow based on the inquiry’s findings.

This incident highlights ongoing concerns regarding the misuse of power and the impact of social media expressions in local communities. Authorities have been urged to ensure justice is served in order to uphold the rule of law and protect citizens’ rights.
