FIA launches Enquiry against NATO Jet Fuel Supplier

FIA corporate circle Karachi asks PSO to provide all records of agreements

Islamabad: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has initiated an enquiry against the jet fuel supplier of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) in Pakistan.

Pakistan and the US had made arrangements for jet fuel supply to NATO forces when the latter attacked Afghanistan after 9/11.

United States (US) has nominated Taj Afridi in Pakistan to supply jet fuel to NATO forces that were operating in Afghanistan.

Afridi has been working as a local agent in Pakistan to supply jet fuel to NATO forces. Pakistan State Oil (PSO) had been supplying jet fuel to forces in Afghanistan through Taj Afridi.

However, Pakistani authorities did not know what arrangement Taj Afridi had made with NATO forces for the supply of jet fuel.

Now, anti-corruption watch dog-FIA had started an enquiry against the companies Taj Afridi-Al-Haj Group-owned for misuse of condoms general orders while supplying jet fuel to NATO forces.

FIA corporate Crime Circles had sent a letter to Pakistan State Oil (PSO) to provide a record of all agreements it had signed with four companies operating under Al-Haj Group.

Sources told Newztodays.com that the anti-corruption watchdog has started inquiry following charges of misuse of customs general orders.

In a letter to Pakistan State Oil (PSO), FIA Corporate Crime Circles Karachi said that it had registered an enquiry with the approval of the competent authority.

It said that corporate crime circle Karachi is conducting an enquiry regarding import of fuel fuels on behalf of NATO support and procurement agency and misuse of customs general orders by various companies.

FIA initiates enquiry against the companies for supply of jet fuel to NATO forces. These companies included Al-Haj Energy & Trade DMCC, Al-Haj General Trading LLC, M/S New Pak Trading and Al-Haj Enterprises (Pvt) Ltd.

Furthermore, the FIA has sought information from Pakistan State Oil whether it has registered these companies as cartage contractors.

Meanwhile, it has called for providing agreements with these companies if PSO has registered these companies as cartage contractors.

These companies operate under the Al-Haj Group owned by Taj Afridi. The group is in the business of oil and gas and automobile manufacturing as well.

In addition, it has also made footprints in textiles and Matels and from trading to automobile manufacturing. It has also joint ventures with Chinese groups in FAW motors.

    Pleasure moment for us,The great initiative taken by FIA and sindh government authorities.
    Many people of our district Khyber were injured and dead in the NATO supplies but local contractor couldn’t facilitate the effected people according to NATO & Pak worker compensation law/polices.
    the assets of the local people like heavy trucks or workplaces were fully insured by NATO but too many trucks found damaged/burned & insurance not received to relevant people.
