KP CM Announces Free Higher Education for Orphans

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi announced free higher education for orphan students who have cleared the MDCAT exam.

The announcement also included a new internship program for bachelor’s and master’s degree holders, aimed at enhancing practical skills across the province.

Speaking at Frontier Women’s College, CM highlighted multiple initiatives designed to support talented students, with special focus on women and orphans.

Under the Insaf Female Education Card, approximately 55,000 female students will gain access to free higher education, removing financial barriers to continue their studies.

Afridi emphasized that education is the cornerstone of development and his government remains committed to providing equal opportunities for all.

He instructed relevant departments to implement a comprehensive internship program to help graduates gain hands-on experience in various professional fields.

The internship initiative aims to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world workplace requirements, ensuring graduates are job-ready.

Afridi stated that empowering women through education not only benefits families but also strengthens the overall social and economic development of the province.

Orphan students who meet the eligibility criteria for MDCAT will receive financial support for tuition and associated academic expenses under the new scheme.

The government also plans to monitor and evaluate the impact of these programs to ensure maximum benefit to the targeted students.

Through these measures, the provincial government aims to foster a culture of learning, professional growth, and equal access to higher education for all students.
