The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise Department has decided to introduce fancy and special number plates, proposing amendments to formalize the new system.
According to official documents, special number plates will now be sold through an open auction conducted by the Excise Department authorities.
The department has proposed setting the fee for fancy plates at a maximum of Rs150,000 for interested vehicle owners.
Premium special plates will have a base price of Rs1 million, according to the official proposal shared by the department.

Number plates containing three identical letters and three identical digits will be sold for Rs100,000 under the new proposed rules.
Authorities will invite public objections and suggestions regarding the amended rules within fifteen days of the official announcement.
The Excise Department said the revised rules aim to regulate the issuance and pricing of special and fancy number plates.
