KP Launches Digital Licensing for Tourism Sector

KP Tourism Authority has introduced a digital licensing system, making online registration mandatory for all tourism and hospitality-related businesses operating across the province.

As per the directive, no establishment will be allowed to operate without securing an official license through the newly launched online registration system.

The rule applies to hotels, restaurants, travel and tour operators, rent-a-car services, and professional tourist guides providing services anywhere within the province.

Officials stated that the new system aims to regulate the rapidly expanding tourism sector, particularly in the scenic northern regions attracting record numbers of visitors.

A spokesperson said the move will help protect tourists from exploitation, ensure high-quality services, and promote ethical and responsible business practices throughout the industry.

The policy brings all tourism operations under one legal framework, allowing the Authority to set and regulate service rates to maintain fairness and transparency.

Businesses that fail to register or operate without a valid digital license will face strict legal action under the province’s updated tourism laws.

Authorities added that digitization will streamline tourism monitoring and strengthen operational oversight across the province.

It will also enable better data collection for sustainable development within Khyber the growing tourism industry of Pakhtunkhwa.
