Lahore Electric Bus Network to Grow Next Month
The Punjab government has announced plans to expand Lahore’s electric bus network with 35 new buses set to begin operations on Canal Road.
According to officials, the additional fleet will cover the route from Thokar Niaz Baig to Jallo Mor, with service expected to start early October.
The new buses are scheduled to arrive shortly, while the provincial administration intends to hold a formal ceremony to mark the launch of the project.
Currently, 27 electric buses are operational in Lahore, running between Green Town and Railway Station, offering citizens an affordable, clean, and eco-friendly transport alternative.
The expansion is expected to significantly improve accessibility, reduce congestion across busy routes, and strengthen efforts to create a sustainable urban transport system for the city.
