Leaked Report Exposes Huge Pay at State Broadcaster

A recently leaked document has revealed that several anchors hired under the current administration at PTV are receiving unusually high monthly salaries and benefits.

The disclosure has sparked widespread criticism and renewed debate over financial discipline and the possible misuse of public funds at the state-owned broadcaster.

According to the document accessed by Daily Ausaf, at least twenty anchors and analysts have been hired on contractual or program-to-program arrangements by the corporation.

Many of these media professionals are reportedly drawing salaries worth several hundred thousand to more than one million rupees each month from the organisation.

As per the details in the leaked document, anchorperson Sadia Afzal stands at the top of the list with a monthly package amounting to Rs. 1.76 million.

Sadia is closely followed by anchor Maria Zulfiqar Khan, who has been receiving a salary package estimated at around Rs. 1.16 million per month.

Anchors and analysts Benish Saleem and Najm Wali each reportedly earn close to Rs. 900,000 every month under their contractual arrangements with the broadcaster.

Meanwhile, journalist Ameen Hafeez, currently posted at PTV Lahore, is said to be drawing a salary package of Rs. 674,160 monthly.

Sports analyst Aaliya Rasheed reportedly receives Rs. 800,000 per month, making her one of the higher-paid professionals within the corporation.

Other anchors, including Hammad Hassan, Kaneez Fizza, and Kashan Akmal Imtiaz, are being compensated between Rs. 250,000 and Rs. 300,000 monthly.

The revelations have raised public concern over financial management within PTV, which continues to depend heavily on taxpayer contributions and license fee revenue.
