The Meteorological Department has forecast light rain in the city on February 18, coinciding with the first day of Ramadan as a western weather system approaches.

Deputy Director Anjum Nazir Zaigham said a fresh western circulation will enter Pakistan on February 17, potentially affecting weather patterns across several regions in the coming days.

Under the influence of this system, the Met Office predicts light rain, drizzle, or scattered showers on February 18 and 19, affecting the start of the holy month.

Zaigham highlighted a strong possibility of rain accompanied by fully or partly cloudy skies on the first day of Ramadan, impacting early morning routines and outdoor activities.

He added that thundershowers are expected in multiple districts of rural Sindh as the western system progresses southwards, bringing isolated heavy rainfall and cloud cover across the province.

The deputy director further noted that successive westerly wind systems are likely to enter Pakistan during March, which may bring rainfall to several cities in different provinces.

According to the Meteorological Department, the city recorded a minimum temperature of 18.2°C and a maximum of 31.6°C on Thursday, reflecting warm daytime conditions despite expected rainfall.

Citizens are advised to monitor official weather updates closely, remain prepared for changing conditions, and take precautions against rain, thunderstorms, and cloudy skies during the early days of Ramadan.
