He said that on Friday, 2nd July, the Forced Load Management was less than 1000MW, clearly indicating there had never been an 8000MW shortfall during more than the last 72 hours.

The Spokesperson further added that instead of relying on self-accumulated data for calculating shortfall and not taking updates from the Power Division, the report has miss reported the energy situation.

He said that due to extra efforts even on Saturday 3rd July, 70% of re-gasification resumed from the Engro’s Terminal which further increased to 80% till late night.

This alone, the Spokesperson said it proves that load shedding of electricity caused due to dry-docking, and the government had mitigated it much earlier to the filling of the story.

The Spokesperson said that ministry had tweeted all data and updates from verified accounts of the Minister of Energy and the Ministry of Energy. Even ready data was available with Power and Petroleum Divisions had that been sought by the worthy correspondent it could have totally changed the basis of the story.

Earlier, Pakistan has faced a load shedding of electricity due to a shortage of gas. Engro Terminal had gone on dry docking that resulted in disruption of imported gas. The government had tried to delay a plan of dry-docking but the insurance of the Engro LNG terminal expired. Therefore, gas shortfall resulted in a reduction of gas supply to power plants.
