Draft advertisement revised to appoint Member Ogra

Islamabad: The government has approved the revised draft advertisement to appoint member Finance Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra).

It has also approved the nomination of DG Oil Imran Ahmed as a member of the selection committee for the appointment of Member (Finance), Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

The petroleum division had proposed the nomination of DG Oil as a member of the selection committee to appoint member finance Ogra.

Secondly, the Cabinet Division briefed the Cabinet that Mr.Noor ul Haque, Member (Finance), Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), had completed his second term of four years, started on 21st July 2017.

The government was to fill the post under Section 3 (7) and 3(8)(c) of the OGRA Ordinance,2002.

The Cabinet Division moved a summary for approval of the Prime Minister to advertise the subject post for merit-based selection.

In addition, the Cabinet division had raised certain observations on the summary. On the directions of the Prime Minister, the cabinet division held a consultative meeting to finalize the requirements for the subject post.

All the relevant stakeholders had attended a meeting. In the meantime, it had prepared a revised draft advertisement after incorporating all changes stakeholders had suggested.

Meanwhile, in compliance with the orders of the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division) had nominated Mr. Imran Ahmed(Director BS-19), working on current charge as Director General (Oil)(BS-20), Policy Wing of the Petroleum Division, as a co-opted member of the Selection Committee.

Keeping in view this, the cabinet division had submitted a proposal for approval of the Federal Cabinet.

It sought approval for the revised draft advertisement for the post of Member (Finance) OGRA.

Furthermore, the Cabinet division further sought approval for the nomination of Mr. Imran Ahmed (Director BS-19), working on current charge as Director General (Oil)(BS-20), Policy Wing of the Petroleum Division, as a co-opted member of the Selection Committee.

In view of the fact that recruitment rules or service regulations for such position have not been prescribed under the respective statute of the OGRA, adoption of the MP-Scale Policy 2020, under Rules 6, may be allowed for the subject post.
