NAB probes against OGRA, OMCs

Islamabad: The NAB—top anti-corruption body—has initiated a probe against one of the OMCs operating in the country under NAB Ordinance 1999 and section 3 of AMLA 2010.
In a letter sent to Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Exceed Petroleum Limited, Islamabad to provide the record and information desired by the Authority, said a letter of NAB, Rawalpindi sent to OMC office in Islamabad.

The letter sent to M/s Exceed Petroleum Ltd is part of an inquiry against officers/officials of OGRA, OMCs, and Others for their alleged involvement in Money Laundering as NAB, Rawalpindi/Islamabad is conducting the inquiry.
The said OMC is further asked to provide a record of areas wise of Petrol pumps operating in special areas and a copy of the license and a separate list of the persons/owners having petrol pumps both in the special areas and other areas, said the letter.

NAB also asked M/s Exceed Petroleum to provide the details of supplies of the last seven years (2013-20) made to the petrol pumps of special areas along with carriage details and also payment details for the last seven years made by petrol pumps of special areas against booking of petroleum products.
The company is also asked to provide area-wise starting from dispatch depot nearest point to the last destination point and the list of depots of the company—an area-wise indicating chain of supplies to the special areas, it added.
The NAB also sought information from the said OMCs that it would also provide mechanism and adjustment of freight charges made by the company for the last 7 years indicating total freight collected, freight charges paid and the amount adjusted said.
Physical Inspection reports regarding monthly sales of pumps and products supplied to pumps by the said OMC for the last 7 years and list of all officers/officials of logistics and sales, (Indicating name, designation, department, the period of posting, current place of posting, contact number) for the last 7 years during with supplies of special areas, the letter concluded.
