OGRA to issue license to LPG bowsers
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced to bring LPG bowsers into the regulatory regime by issuing licenses to transport products.
In a statement, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Friday announced to move forward to bring LPG Bowsers for transportation of LPG into the regulatory regime and issued an adequate number of licenses to carry/transport the LPG.
The regulator has issued a list of licensed LPG Bowsers along with licensing mechanism at OGRA’s website i.e. www.ogra.org.pk.
Furthermore, OGRA will allow only licensed Bowsers to carry and transport LPG within the country in the near future.
It hoped the bulk sellers would be prudent for the safety of both public and material. They are also likely to be vigilant to undertake due diligence of the Bowsers before moving the LPG.
The OGRA resolves to ensure public safety and seeks the cooperation of all stakeholders for safe handling of the LPG supply chain by ensuring international safety standards.
The country has witnessed several incidents of blasting LPG bowsers that had also claimed several lives of the people. The regulator has taken this step to ensure the safety of the public and avoid such incidents in the future.
The OGRA will also ensure some specifications of the LPG bowsers before allowing them to transport the product. Therefore, this step will result in ensuring quality standards of LPG bowsers.
Spokesperson OGRA in a statement said that OGRA pledges to bring LPG Bowsers into the regulatory regime. He said OGRA issued an adequate number of licenses to carry/transport the LPG.
He also announced that the regulator would allow the licensed Bowsers to carry and transport LPG within the country in the near future.
A spokesperson said that OGRA seeks the cooperation of all stakeholders for the safe handling of the LPG supply chain by ensuring international safety standards. The effort of OGRA will yield results to ensure the quality of LPG bowsers in line with international standards.
