OMCs face a decline in the sale of Petroleum Products in August 2022
Oil marketing companies (OMCs) have faced a massive decline in the sale of petroleum products during the month of August 2022.
The sale of petroleum products dropped by 31 per cent during the month of August 2022 following speculation of an increase in prices.
It dropped by 37 per cent compared to the sale in August 2021.
There has also been a decline in the sale of petrol by 15 percent and a 22 percent in the sale of high speed diesel (HSD) following speculation of an increase in prices.
The actual demand for high speed diesel had been projected at 636,500 metric tons. However, actual sales remained at 495581 metric tons registering a reduction of 22 percent.
In the case of petrol, demand estimates were 734800 metric tons but actual sales stood at 637719 metric tons with a decline of 13 percent during the month of August 2022.
PSO Sale
The state-run oil marketing company Pakistan State Oil (PSO), faced a dip in the sale of high speed diesel by 27 percent and 10 percent reduction in the sale of petrol during the month of August 2022.
The demand for high speed diesel had been projected at 320,000 metric tons but actual sale of diesel by PSO stood at 232120 metric tons.
In the case of petrol, the demand was 322000 metric tons but the actual sale of petrol remained at 288748 metric tons by PSO.
Shell Sale
Shell Pakistan Limited faced a drop of 27 percent in the sale of high speed diesel which stood at 38916 metric tons against a target of 52000 metric tons.
It sold 68593 metric tons of petrol against the demand of 80,000 metric tons, facing a decline of 14 percent.
APL
Attock Petroleum Limited (APL) sold 42172 metric tons of high speed diesel against projected demand of 53000 metric tons.It faced a decline in sale by 20 percent.
In the case of petrol, the company’s sale of petrol stood at 54956 metric tons against a projected demand of 60,000 metric tons.
Therefore, like other companies, it faced a decline in the sale of petrol by 8 percent.
CNERGYICO
However, CNERGYICO OMC had witnessed a record increase in sales of high speed diesel by 33 percent during the period under review.
It sold 23,996 metric tons of high speed diesel against a project demand of 18000 metric tons.
However, the company faced a record decline in the sale of petrol by 49 percent.
Its sales of petrol stood at 8480 metric tons against the projected demand of 16500 metric tons.
