OMODA X Introduces New Off-Road Hybrid Crossover

At the 2026 OMODA and JAECOO International User Summit held in Wuhu, China, OMODA unveiled its first-ever off-road-focused crossover, named the OMODA X. This launch marks a strategic evolution for the brand, blending rugged off-road capabilities with sharp, futuristic design.

Design and Specifications Highlight OMODA’s New Direction

The OMODA X is distinguished by its robust dimensions, measuring 4,654 mm in length and 1,920 mm in width, placing it in the mid-size crossover segment. Its 200 mm ground clearance, 700 mm wading depth, and 1,800 kg towing capacity emphasize enhanced versatility suitable for moderate off-road challenges.

Its appearance reflects an aggressive and modern style that merges urban crossover aesthetics with off-road readiness. The vehicle showcases prominent wheel arches, angular LED lighting, and a unique Progloss Plus Clearcoat finish—a scratch-resistant, self-healing coating designed to endure outdoor wear.

High-Tech Interior and Multifaceted Powertrain Options

Inside, the cabin features OMODA’s “Mecha Starship” design philosophy, with a large X-shaped center console equipped with toggle switches, a rotary controller, and a red starter button. The instrument cluster integrates a 10.25-inch digital display alongside a 13.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Notably, the OMODA X is equipped with thermal imaging technology capable of detecting objects up to 90 meters away, enhancing night driving safety.

Powertrain flexibility is a cornerstone of the OMODA X’s appeal, with planned variants including Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV), Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV), and Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) options. Preliminary reports indicate a BEV version with an approximately 74 kWh battery and a PHEV with a 20 kWh battery, enabling the model to cater to diverse market demands and infrastructure conditions.

Significance for Pakistani Auto Market

OMODA’s presence in Pakistan, through the Nishat Group’s NexGen Auto, makes the OMODA X potentially relevant for local consumers increasingly interested in hybrid and electric SUVs. Pakistan’s shifting preferences towards electrified vehicles could find a fitting option in OMODA’s versatile crossover, although formal launch plans and pricing details for the region have yet to be announced.

With its blend of rugged design, advanced technology, and multiple electrified powertrains, the OMODA X could signal a meaningful addition to Pakistan’s auto landscape, especially as environmental awareness and demand for efficient SUVs rise among buyers.

According to an event spokesperson, the vehicle “introduces a new era combining sports-car influence with off-road capability and futuristic design,” highlighting OMODA’s push into diversified mobility solutions.
