Pakistan Car Sales in October 2022 up 20%
Pakistan car sales in October 2022 totaled 15000 units, a 20% increase month over month, owing primarily to the availability of CKD parts.
It also included sales of Non-PAMA members which clocked in at 15000 units up 20% MoM primarily due to the availability of CKD parts which led to lower nonproduction days in Oct-2022 as compared to Sep-2022.
However, Auto sales are down 36% YoY amid escalating car prices, expensive auto financing, and the low purchasing power of consumers. This takes 4MFY23 car sales to 47,934 units down 47% YoY from 89,921 units in 4MFY22.
All companies reported an increase on a MoM basis except for Hyundai where sales were down 50% MoM. Tuscon and Elantra were down 46% MoM and 58% MoM respectively in Oct-2022.

Indus Motors (INDU) posted an increase of 29% MoM to 3,374 units in Oct-2022 from 2,617 units in Sep-2022. Honda Atlas Car (HCAR) also recorded an increase of 19% MoM to 1,425 units in Oct-2022 led by an increase in sales of City & Civic by 14% MoM.Toyota Car Prices In Pakistan | Price Charts Of All Car Models
Amongst Tractors, Millat Tractors (MTL) recorded a significant jump of 136% to 1,503 units in Oct-2022 due to low base as the plant was shut down for 23 days in Sep-2022 amid floods. Al-Ghazi Tractors (AGTL) recorded sales of 387 units, down 74% MoM.
Pakistan bike sales were up by 14% MoM while down 36% YoY in Oct-2022. Atlas Honda (ATLH) recorded sales of 95K units, up 12% MoM while down 24% YoY.
Trucks & Buses sales were down 14% MoM and 33% YoY to 326 units in Oct-2022 primarily due to a drop in transportation activities and a slowdown in the overall economy.
