Pakistan Single Window, TDAP Sign MoU to Enhance Digital Trade

The Pakistan Single Window (PSW) and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance the digitalisation of Pakistan’s trade ecosystem and improve services related to export facilitation.
Signed at the TDAP Headquarters in Karachi, this collaboration aims to enhance regulatory efficiency and provide integrated, digital services to exporters and importers nation-wide. The partnership focuses on harmonising export facilitation procedures and integrating critical digital platforms such as TDAP’s Pakistan Trade Portal and Exporters Directory into the broader PSW system.
Officials involved in the initiative highlighted that through this integration, traders will gain seamless, real-time access to trade-related information and services, significantly reducing the dependency on manual processes. This initiative is expected to streamline trade operations and foster a more efficient trading environment.
Under this agreement, TDAP will leverage its regional offices, trade associations, and international networks to engage stakeholders and encourage the adoption of PSW’s paperless trade tools. In addition, TDAP will provide dedicated space for PSW at major trade events to facilitate outreach activities.
Both entities will also collaborate on secure trade data sharing to support market analysis and develop evidence-based policymaking aimed at benefiting Pakistan’s trade sector. Furthermore, the partnership includes joint efforts to create export-ready toolkits and compliance checklists designed to assist small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in meeting international market standards.
A significant feature of the MoU is its gender-responsive trade facilitation component. PSW and TDAP will coordinate initiatives to improve export readiness and digital inclusion for women-led businesses, including entrepreneurs involved with the WTO Award-winning Khadijah Women Entrepreneurship Program.
PSW Chief Executive Officer Aftab Haider noted that the collaboration would foster a unified, inclusive, and equitable trade ecosystem while supporting focused trade promotion initiatives and enhancing digital trade services.
The agreement also encompasses joint capacity-building sessions, where PSW will provide training and orientation to TDAP officers on new digital modules and regulatory updates to ensure smooth implementation of the new systems.
This MoU marks a strategic step towards modernising Pakistan’s trade infrastructure and enhancing the country’s position in the global trade landscape through digital innovations and inclusive policies.
