The Pakistan Cricket Board has confirmed the 10 bidding groups qualified to participate in the auction for two new Pakistan Super League franchises.

The move comes as the PSL prepares for a major expansion from 6 to 8 teams, marking a significant step in the league’s commercial growth.

The franchise auction is scheduled for January 8 at the Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad, according to officials familiar with the process.

The two successful bidders will acquire licenses for new teams set to debut in PSL 11, scheduled to run from March 26 to May 3, 2026.

Among the confirmed bidders is Inverex Solar Energy, a renewable energy firm with previous PSL sponsorship experience and established corporate presence in Pakistan.

Real estate developer OZ Group, chaired by Hamza Majeed and operating through OZI Developers, has also qualified to bid for a franchise license.

VGO TEL, a Karachi-based mobile technology company led by chief executive Naveed Gaba, represents growing interest from Pakistan’s technology sector.

Telecom giant Jazz has been confirmed as a bidder, continuing its involvement with the PSL after serving as a major sponsor and strategic partner.

DSM Tareen Group, led by businessman Ali Khan Tareen, is seeking to re-enter PSL ownership after previously owning the Multan Sultans franchise.

Global fintech company i2c, founded by US-based Pakistani entrepreneur Aamir Waien, is among the bidders, reflecting international investor participation.

Walee Tech has also qualified, with the firm operating across media and financial technology sectors while seeking broader digital engagement through the league.

Prism Developers, partnered with Exchange ON, has entered the bidding process, combining property development expertise with a real estate technology offering.

Investment firm Kingsmen Group has been confirmed among the bidders, underlining financial sector interest in PSL franchise ownership as a long-term asset.

Aim Next Inc completes the list of qualified bidders, representing technology and innovation sectors increasingly investing in professional sports properties.

Successful bidders will select home cities from a PCB-approved list including Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Hyderabad, Sialkot, Muzaffarabad, and Gilgit.
