Govt reduces petrol price by Rs 1.5 per liter

The government has slashed the price of petrol today by Rs 1.50 per liter effective from September 1, 2021.
The government has slashed the price of high-speed diesel, and kerosene oil by Rs 1.5 per liter each.
However, the government has reduced the price of light diesel oil by Rs 1 per liter.
The government has also slashed the price of petrol to Rs 118.30 per liter from Rs 119.80 per liter registering a cut of Rs 1.5 per liter. The price of petrol today at Rs 119.80 per liter. After reduction, it will be at Rs 118.30 per liter.
The motorbikes and cars use petrol. It is also an alternative to compressed natural gas (CNG). The consumption of petrol in Punjab has increased due to the curtailment of indigenous gas to CNG retailoutets.CNG stations are now operating on imported gas (LNG).
The price of high-speed diesel has also witnessed a reduction of Rs 1.5 per liter to Rs 115.03 compared to Rs 116.53 per liter.
The major use of High-speed diesel is in the agriculture and transport sectors. The revision in its price also poses a direct impact on the life of the common man. Consumers in remote areas use Kerosene oil for cooking purposes where Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) is not available.
The consumers in the Northern areas of Pakistan use this fuel as they don’t have access to LPG fuel for cooking purposes. The industry uses LDO.
The finance ministry in a statement said that despite international price fluctuations in petroleum products and anticipated increase in future prices, the Government has reduced the prices in order to provide maximum relief to the consumers.
The Government has expressed firm commitment to ensuring stability in prices of essential commodities and has sustained the price pressure in line with its commitment to the common man.

It is pertinent to mention that the petroleum levy is kept at a minimum which is a clear reflection that government is fully cognizant of the impact of fuel prices on the prices of basic items that affect people directly.
