Prime Minister Imran Khan has reportedly become a scapegoat between Russia and United States (US) over the Ukraine issue.
According to sources, the United States (US) was upset with Premier Imran Khan for taking a neutral stance on the Ukraine issue.
US authorities believed it was Prime Minister Imran Khan’s policy that Pakistan took a neutral stance on Ukraine’s issue.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to the USA had held a meeting with key officials of the United States (US) in Washington on March 7, 2022.
US officials said that the US was not happy with the neutral stance of Pakistan on the Ukraine situation.
US officials informed the Pakistani side that the National Security Council, USA argued that such neutrality was due to the Prime Minister’s policy.
They further said that it showed that other relevant entities in Pakistan were not part of the policy decisions.
However, the Pakistani ambassador had ruled out this stance of US officials.

He said that Premier had taken a decision in wake of consultation with stakeholders.
The letter quoted the US Assistant Secretary who said that the US would forgive the stance of Pakistan in case the Vote of No Confidence succeeds.
However, US officials had warned of adverse consequences in case the no-confidence move does not succeed.

He added that the Prime Minister had planned the Russia visit long ago before the Ukraine crisis started.
US officials had also informed that the US would decide about the fate of future relationship with Pakistan after the dust of no-confidence move against Premier settles down.
The United States had been a key ally of Pakistan almost in all wars in Afghanistan.
However, Russia is the arch-rival of the US and the latter can not compromise on this issue.
There had been no contact between the new president of the US Joe Biden and Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan.
