PM Calls for Enhanced Monkeypox Screening

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed to boost the efficiency of Monkeypox screening measures at the nation’s airports, seaports, and borders. He presided over a crucial meeting concerning Monkeypox in Islamabad today.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister directed the National Command and Operation Center to monitor the Monkeypox situation within the country closely.President, PM for preventive measures against Hepatitis

Additionally, the Prime Minister mandated the Border Health Services to ensure rigorous oversight and strict surveillance of the situation.

He emphasized that all necessary testing equipment and kits for the disease should be readily available.

The Prime Minister also called for improved coordination with provincial governments, as well as the Governments of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, to curb the spread of the disease.

Shehbaz Sharif ordered the initiation of a thorough and effective awareness campaign on this matter.

The Prime Minister stated that he will personally receive weekly briefings on the Monkeypox situation.

The meeting was informed that recently, a person in Mardan tested positive for the virus. This individual had been working abroad and had recently returned to Pakistan.
