Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed relevant institutions to prepare a comprehensive Ramadan relief package aimed at benefiting the public.

Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that the distribution of food assistance to the poor must be transparent and efficient.

During a meeting chaired by the prime minister, officials reviewed the federal government’s proposed Ramadan package and assessed last year’s relief efforts through independent third-party validation.

The prime minister praised the audit report, noting that the previous package had successfully created a transparent system to ensure food items reached citizens at affordable prices.

“Thanks to this package, the prevailing system of exploitation of the poor has been transformed into a transparent mechanism,” Sharif remarked.

Shehbaz Sharif instructed authorities to explore the use of digital wallets for distributing relief funds, describing the approach as a potential milestone toward a cashless economy.

Collaboration with the State Bank of Pakistan is expected to enhance the efficiency of the digital wallet system, ensuring funds reach intended beneficiaries.

A digital dashboard and systematic monitoring framework will also be implemented to maintain accountability, improve transparency, and safeguard public dignity.

The government aims to combine technological solutions with careful oversight to make the Ramadan package more accessible and efficient for citizens.

Officials were urged to complete preparations promptly so that the package can be implemented smoothly during the holy month.

The prime minister emphasized that transparency, efficiency, and dignity must remain central to all relief efforts under the new system.
