PM Speeds Up Islamabad IT Park Construction
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stated that the construction of the nation’s first advanced Islamabad IT Park has been expedited to ensure its completion within this year.

He highlighted that the IT Park will be completed at a cost of twenty-five billion rupees, with seventy million dollars provided by South Korea as a soft loan. The Prime Minister recalled that the project was awarded to a Korean company in 2022.
Expressing satisfaction with the quality of the construction, the Prime Minister noted that this IT park will accommodate one hundred and twenty offices of IT-enabled companies and create job opportunities for ten thousand young individuals.
He added that this facility will also include an incubation center, fifteen startups, along with commercial and recreational amenities.
Shehbaz Sharif emphasized that the IT Park will maintain close coordination and connections with academia. He mentioned that a significant component of the park is the establishment of IT labs, which will foster research and development activities among the youth.
He also pointed out that this facility will lead to the creation of two hundred and fifty e-rozgaar centers across the country. Additionally, a level three data center is being constructed at the IT park.
The Prime Minister announced that more IT parks will be established at both federal and provincial levels, benefiting millions of young people. He mentioned that eighty billion rupees have been allocated in the budget for the IT sector.
During the visit, the Prime Minister received a detailed briefing on the progress of the construction. It was informed that the IT Park is being built on 14.9 acres of land.
