President, PM vow Pakistan’s continued support for Kashmiris’ right to self-determination
ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has honored the courageous efforts of the renowned Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Gilani in advocating for the rights of the oppressed people in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The President reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting the realization of the IIOJK people’s right to self-determination as outlined in the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stated that the fight for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination will persist until this objective is achieved.
On the occasion of the third martyrdom anniversary of veteran Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani, Shehbaz Sharif affirmed that Pakistan will continue to provide moral, diplomatic, and political support to the Kashmiri people.
He noted that Syed Ali Gilani will always be remembered as a dignified figure in the Kashmir independence movement. The Prime Minister emphasized that Syed Ali Gilani was a remarkable leader who devoted his entire life to achieving the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.
The Prime Minister also acknowledged that Syed Ali Gilani’s contributions to the independence of the Kashmiri people and his struggle for self-determination will forever be remembered.
He added that the hardships faced during captivity could not diminish the late Kashmiri leader’s unwavering commitment, and Syed Ali Gilani’s sacrifices will not be in vain.
