The local bourse experienced a choppy, range-bound session as rollover-week adjustments kept sentiment cautious. The benchmark index swung between an intraday high of 663 points and a low of 235 points before closing at 171,073, down 130 points or 0.08%.

Activity remained selective amid position reshuffling, capping any meaningful upside. Meanwhile, all eyes remained on Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) as the government moved to offload a major liability—a development closely monitored for its broader fiscal and market impact.

On the contribution front, HBL, KOHC, UBL, PTC, and DCR collectively added 324 points, while ENGROH, FFC, SYS, and LUCK erased 308 points, keeping the index in negative territory.

Topline analysts said that market participation stayed low, with volumes at 648 million shares and turnover recorded at Rs. 28.23 billion.
