Wheat prices have surged across Punjab including Lahore rising by up to Rs700 per maund within 10 days triggering higher flour prices and public concern.

Market sources said wheat in Lahore rose from Rs3,700 per maund to around Rs4,400–4,450 during 10 days reflecting sharp increases across the local grain market.

In Rawalpindi wheat prices climbed to about Rs4,800 per maund while Gujranwala Gujrat Multan Bahawalpur Dera Ghazi Khan Islamabad also recorded increases during recent days.

Rising wheat costs pushed flour prices higher with a 15 kilogram bag in Lahore expected to sell for Rs1,750 up from Rs1,500 recently according sources.

Market sources said cheaper 10 kilogram and 20 kilogram flour bags have become rare in several Lahore areas increasing consumer anxiety about availability and prices.

Flour Mills Association cited wheat shortages for price rises while Punjab Food Department denied shortages saying flour remains available in markets across Lahore according officials.
