Punjab Suspends Key Exams As Situation Unfolds
The Punjab University has postponed its LLB examinations scheduled for today due to the worsening law and order situation across Lahore, officials confirmed.
According to a university spokesperson, the revised dates for the postponed papers will be announced later, while the exams scheduled for October 13 will proceed.
The spokesperson said that the decision was made after several parts of the city experienced disruptions, causing difficulties for students and staff commuting to the campus.
The Higher Education Department has also suspended classes in public and private universities across Lahore as part of precautionary safety measures.
Education authorities have directed all institutions to send students home early, citing heavy traffic congestion and road blockages caused by security restrictions in several areas.
The Education CEO said that both public and private schools were included in the directive, ensuring that students return home safely before further disruptions occur.
Meanwhile, the Punjab Public Service Commission has cancelled the PERA Force Sub-Divisional Enforcement Officer tests that were scheduled for October 11 and 12.

A PPSC representative confirmed that new dates for the cancelled examinations will be announced soon, and candidates will be notified through official communication channels.
The decision comes as transport services in Lahore face widespread suspension, with the Orange Line train and Metro bus operations halted until further notice.
Officials said that several major routes remain closed, while the City Terminal, Rahbar Terminal, and other intercity bus stations have temporarily stopped operations.
Earlier, the Lahore Education Department announced early leave for students in all public and private schools due to the worsening law and order situation in city.
According to the Chief Executive Officer of Education, schools were directed to release students early as several major roads remain blocked, causing heavy congestion across Lahore.
The federal government has also suspended mobile internet services in twin cities due to ongoing protests and growing security concerns due to TLP Protest in Islamabad.
