Qatar Extends GCC Visit Visas to Two Months

Qatar has announced major changes to its visa policy, extending visit visas for GCC residents from one month to two months and allowing multiple-entry permits.

The changes were unveiled by Qatar Tourism and are intended to ease travel for residents of Gulf states attending sporting, cultural and entertainment events.

Officials said the new rules will take effect on Sunday, November 30, and will be implemented through the Haya platform.

The move follows the hosting of the FIFA World Cup 2025 and aims to support access to the country’s growing calendar of events.

The Haya system will continue to support the Arab Cup 2025 by simplifying travel procedures for visitors and fans from across the Gulf.

Authorities said the platform provides a unified digital process for submitting e-visa applications and managing event-entry requirements, enabling smoother trip planning.

Haya currently offers five types of electronic visas, including a tourist visa (A1) and a GCC resident visa (A2).

The platform also provides an electronic travel notification (A3), a visa for visitors accompanying GCC citizens (A4), and a visa waiver application for US citizens (F1).

Qatar Tourism framed the adjustments as measures to make it easier for Gulf residents to attend events and navigate entry requirements.

The expanded visa validity and multiple-entry options are presented as practical steps to accommodate increased visitor flows during major tournaments and cultural activities.
