Raja Mazhar likely to head NBF

The federal government is likely to appoint Dr. Raja Mazhar Hameed as managing director (MD) National Book Foundation (NBF).
There are three candidates in the race of new managing director National Book Foundation (NBF) Islamabad.
They included associate Professor Dr. Raja Mazhar Hameed IQRA University Islamabad, Secretary SAFRON Muhammad Aslam and Dr.Muhammad Ali Sheikh.
National Book Foundation (NBF) was established in 1972 as a service rendering educational welfare organization It is a body corporate created under the provisions of the Act in order to make books available at moderate prices a strengthen national production of books and reading materials.
The vacant post of Managing Director (MP-II). The government advertised the post in two national newspapers i.e Daily Jang and Daily Dawn to fill the vacant post of the Managing Director (MP-Il) National Book Foundation (NBF) Islamabad for a period of three years on a contract basis in accordance with MP Scale Policy 2020.
Meanwhile, in response to the advertisement, 115 candidates applied for the post within the due date. In addition, the Scrutiny Committee, after examining the record of applicants as per criteria declared 105 candidates eligible for an interview to the post of Managing Director (MP-II).
Furthermore, ut of 105 candidates, 81 candidates appeared in person for an interview before the Selection committee whereas 8 candidates appeared online through Zoom/Skype.
The Selection Committee conducted interviews of the eligible candidates. Selection Committee recommends a panel of candidates, to forward to the cabinet to appoint one candidate among them as Managing Director (MP-Il).
The ministry has proposed to appoint managing director National Book Foundation Islamabad for an initial period of three (03) years, extendable for a max period of two years, subject to satisfactory performance with the approval of the competent authority. Finally, the committee has finalized three names in the merit of order.
