Saim Ayub Becomes Top ICC T20I All-Rounder
The International Cricket Council has confirmed Saim Ayub as the top-ranked player in the latest ICC T20I all-rounders rankings following his impressive Asia Cup performance.
Saim picked up eight wickets and scored 37 runs, overtaking India’s Hardik Pandya to secure the number one spot with 241 rating points in updated standings.
Renowned initially for his attacking batting, the 23-year-old has developed significant bowling skills, offering Pakistan a rare balance between power-hitting and tactical bowling options.
Former coach Mike Hesson believes his progress strengthens Pakistan’s limited-overs plans, providing the selectors with a versatile option capable of fulfilling multiple roles simultaneously.
Pakistan has often been criticised for lacking reliable all-rounders, but Saim’s rise could help create depth, balance, and greater flexibility across future team combinations.
