PMA Appeals to Increase Salary of PIMS’ PGR, MO’s

Islamabad: Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) has appealed to increase the salary of PIMs’ Postgraduate Research (PGR) and Medical Officers (MO).
The delegation of the Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) on Saturday met with the Executive Director of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).
During the meeting, keeping in view of rising inflation, the issue of increasing the salary of Postgraduate Research (PGR) and Medical Officers (MO) came under consideration.Pakistan Faces Rise in HIV, Registers 566 New Cases
The delegation of PMA met with the ED of PIMS, Professor Dr. Rana Imran Sikandar, under the leadership of the President of PMA, Dr. Mubashir Mushtaq Daha, other members Dr. Waseem, Dr. Asad, Dr. Ahmed, Dr. Rashid, Dr. Saleem, Dr. Qasim, Dr. Amin, Dr. Sania participated in the meeting. The issue of increasing the salary was taken into consideration.
According to the Spokesperson of ED PIMS, Dr. Mubashir Mushtaq, the ED has assured to talk to the authority and take it into consideration. In the meeting, security reforms and security audits had been emphasized in Pims.
He said that the hostel problems of PGRs coming from remote areas will also be taken into consideration.
He assured that all AC issues would be rectified before June 30. Promotion and salary issues of MOs were also taken up.
He added that further improvement of the dialysis center was considered in the meeting agenda. Emphasis was placed on providing trainees with additional learning opportunities through emergency laparoscopic procedures.
Further improvement of Pims cafeterias and the formation of a regulatory body was brought up.
