Senators Elected as Chairmen of Key Senate Committees

In three separate sessions held today at the Parliament House, Senator Taj Haider, Senator Jan Muhammad, and Senator Syed Masroor Ahsan were elected as Chairmen of the Senate Committees on Rules of Procedure and Privileges, States and Frontier Regions, and National Food Security and Research, respectively, in accordance with Rule 184(1) of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Senate 2012.Hascol scam: Parliamentary Panel grills company

The Senate Committee on Rules of Procedure and Privileges convened at the Parliament House to elect its Chairman today. Senator Taj Haider, nominated by Senator Prof. Sajid Mir and seconded by Senator Dost Ali Jeesar, assumed the role of Chairman. Senator Taj Haider expressed gratitude to the committee members for their confidence in his leadership, pledging to steer the committee forward with unwavering dedication and collaboration.

Earlier, the Senate Standing Committee on States and Frontier Regions elected Senator Jan Muhammad as its Chairman. Senator Jan Muhammad was nominated by Syed Masroor Ahsan and seconded by Senator Dost Muhammad Khan.

Similarly, in a separate proceeding, Senator Rahat Jamali proposed Senator Syed Masroor Ahsan as Chairman of the Senate Committee on National Food Security and Research in a meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on National Food Security and Research. The nomination received endorsement from Senator Dost Muhammad Khan, resulting in Senator Syed Masroor Ahsan assuming the chairmanship unopposed.

The newly appointed chairpersons extended their appreciation to all participants and affirmed their commitment to ensuring the effective functioning of their respective committees with the full support of its members.
