Crisis intensified: SSGC suspends gas supply to CPPs

Islamabad: As the gas crisis intensifies, Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced the complete suspension of gas supply to Captive Power Plants (CPPs) of all General industries excluding Non-Export Sectors to bring the supply pressure back to normal position for domestic gas consumers, said an official order of the Company.
The official order further elaborated that the SSGC is taking this step mainly because of the non-cooperation of industrial units operating on the system of the company.

Also, the SSGC’s line pack is continuously depleting and now reached a critical level resultantly compelling the domestic sector is suffering immensely.
SSGCL management has said that all the Captive Power Plants of General Industry should switch over to alternate sources with immediate effect”, the order reads.
