Step-by-Step Guide to Punjab Ration Card Scheme

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has launched the Digital Ration Card Scheme to assist low-income families struggling with financial hardship caused by rising inflation.

The scheme provides Rs3,000 in monthly assistance through a digital card that can be used at authorized grocery and utility stores across Punjab.

It aims to empower vulnerable families, particularly those affected by recent floods, by ensuring access to essential food items through a secure and transparent system.

The initiative reflects the commitment of Punjab government to modernizing welfare delivery and enhancing food security for economically challenged and marginalized citizens.

Under this program, deserving families will receive monthly financial aid through smart cards, reducing corruption and ensuring support reaches verified beneficiaries efficiently.

The system encourages digital inclusion and reduces dependency on outdated, cash-based welfare programs by introducing a transparent, technology-driven model of assistance.

In its first phase, the program targets industrial and daily wage workers, enabling them to purchase basic food items conveniently from registered stores.

This innovative digital welfare model simplifies financial transactions and strengthens accountability in the distribution of aid across the province.
