Telenor consumers report overbilling complaints

Telenor, likewise its other competitors in the telecom market in Pakistan, is poor in performance and the quality of service and network coverage. At the same time, the Network is overcharging its consumers.
Telenor, a Norwegian CMOs, has a 27 % market share and is positioned at the second in the market, is indulged in deducting secretly balance from its pre-paid customers.
Telco’s consumers in all seven countries reported either over-billing or overcharging the consumers. PTA issued a tariff for all the CMOs quarterly. Telenor, without bringing in the knowledge of the consumers, detects the balance automatically.
Jazz, with the largest market share of 38 %, has a maximum number of complaints, with 64 % regarding the quality of service, network coverage, and overcharging.
Regarding billing or overcharging, a PTA report revealed that Telenor consumers from Abbottabad among the top complaints, whereas Telco’s consumers from Lahore have reported fewer complaints regarding billing issues. Whereas the rest of the four cities also have complaints regarding overbilling or tariff issues, include Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Multan, and Faisalabad.
Similarly, the regulator also reported 21 % of consumer’s complaints against Telenor regarding poor coverage of the network. Kasur, a border city of Punjab, has the worst coverage of the Telenor network. Whereas the other cities, whereas the network has poor coverage, include Karachi, Islamabad, Gujranwala, Jahania, Faisalabad, and Lahore.

Telenor has shown improvement in service quality and jumped from the second position to the third position among its four CMOs operators. It has 12 % of complaints regarding the quality of service.
Telenor’s consumers in the Dadu district of Sindh have more complaints regarding the poor quality of service. Telenor consumers from other cities like Hyderabad, Islamabad, Karachi, Faisalabad, Sargodha, and Lahore.
