Train Fare Hike: New Rates Set For Lahore-Rawalpindi Route
Pakistan Railways has raised ticket prices for passenger trains operating between Lahore and Rawalpindi, marking a notable fare revision effective from October 5, 2025.
According to details shared by the Pakistan Railway, the increase applies to both economy and business classes on major trains between the two major cities.
A spokesperson confirmed that fares for Subak Kharam and Subak Raftar trains have been raised by up to Rs250, depending on the travel class.
The revision aims to balance rising operational costs and offer improved on-board facilities for passengers.
Under the new structure, the fare for AC Parlour has been fixed at Rs2,500, AC Business at Rs2,250, AC Standard at Rs2,100, and Economy Class at Rs1,300.

The spokesperson further added that passengers will now receive complimentary refreshments during their journey as part of the fare adjustment.
The fare increase follows the recent federal government decision to raise fuel prices, with petrol and diesel rates both climbing by over Rs4 per litre in early October.
Rising fuel costs have put additional pressure on transportation services across the country, prompting Pakistan Railways to revise its pricing to sustain operations.
It worth mentioning that last week, the federal government had increased petrol prices by Rs4.07 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs4.04 per litre.
Petrol will now cost Rs268.68 per litre, while diesel will be priced at Rs276.81 per litre, following recommendations from Ogra and relevant ministries.
