The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has introduced a package of visa facilitation measures for Pakistani nationals.

These include online visa processing, e-visas without passport stamping and a dedicated visa centre able to handle nearly 500 applications a day.

The reforms were outlined in a meeting between UAE Ambassador Salem Al Zaabi and Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb at the Finance Division.

According to a statement issued after the meeting, the ambassador said the measures aim to ease travel for business visitors and Pakistani residents.

He added that the reforms are supported by strengthened system-to-system links with Pakistani authorities.

Al Zaabi praised Pakistani professionals’ contributions across sectors in the UAE and said deepening bilateral engagement would remain his priority.

Finance Minister Aurangzeb welcomed the reforms, saying easier travel would boost business exchanges due to the UAE’s global trade and investment role.

He noted the UAE’s continued support for Pakistan through investment, remittances, government financing and backing at international financial institutions.

Aurangzeb said Pakistan’s policy focus is on expanding trade and attracting long-term investment.

He also highlighted opportunities in information technology, artificial intelligence, agriculture, minerals, logistics, and higher education.

He encouraged greater participation from UAE sovereign wealth funds, private companies and multinationals.

The UAE ambassador said economic cooperation is a priority, aiming to expand trade, attract Pakistani tech firms, and encourage UAE investors.

He cited ongoing engagement in sectors including agriculture, infrastructure, ports, mining, financial services and virtual assets.

The meeting also reviewed defence cooperation and training exchanges, with both sides expressing interest in strengthening long-standing military ties.
