Unknown gunmen attacked the house of national cricketer Naseem Shah in Lower Dir late Sunday night, partially damaging the gate, windows, and vehicle.

Police said they were immediately informed about the incident, and a heavy contingent was dispatched, but the assailants had already fled the scene.

Authorities cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to trace the suspects and ensure the safety of the cricketer’s family.

So far, five individuals have been taken into custody for questioning, while police continue investigating the incident and gathering evidence from the scene.

A formal case has been registered at Mirpur Police Station, with law enforcement agencies coordinating to apprehend the militants responsible for the attack.

Officials confirmed that no one was injured, but security measures have been increased around the residence to prevent any further attacks or threats.

Local residents reported hearing gunfire, prompting neighbors to quickly alert authorities, who then arrived to secure the area and investigate the situation.

Police are reviewing CCTV footage, interviewing witnesses, and examining all potential motives to identify the attackers and bring them to justice promptly.
