Experts have stressed on exploring ways to address the growing need for retention and growth of valuable talent, with a particular emphasis on the role of leadership.
S&P Global and Nutshell Group hosted a webinar titled “Career Development: Creating a Path for Employee Growth and Retention.”
The event brought together top corporate executives and HR experts to explore how changes in technology and organizational structures impact workplace relationships.
The discussion centered on the need for companies to redesign and rethink their work structures to retain their best employees in an ever-changing workplace culture.
Mujeeb Zahur, Managing Director of S&P Global, opened the event by discussing the company’s focus on setting clear goals, continuous learning, strategic networking, feedback solicitation, and leadership development across its team.
He also highlighted S&P Global’s numerous awards, including Best Place to Work in 2019, Gold Award Top IT Exporter 2016-2018, Platinum Award BPO Services 2019, and Silver Award Top IT Exporter 2019, which have helped the company become more people-centered.
Zahur also mentioned S&P Global’s “Edge” platform, which offers enterprise learning opportunities to team members.

Saquib Ahmad, Managing Director of SAP in Pakistan, Iraq, and Afghanistan, stressed the importance of leadership in today’s evolving workplace, noting that employees now know exactly what they want from the companies they work for.
Ahmad further emphasized the importance of creating an environment that retains top talent and prevents brain drain.
The webinar’s panel discussion was led by Al-Karim Hassan, Chief Strategy Officer of MAK Technology, UAE.
Panelists included Wasif Rizvi, President of Habib University, Fatima Asad-Said, CEO of Abacus Consulting Technology Limited, Tanzeela Hussain, Global HR Business Partner for the British Council, Muhammad Rizwan Dalia, Chief People Officer for K-Electric, and Shahrukh Masood, Group Director of Human Resources and Corporate Communication for the Martin Dow Group.
The panelists discussed the changing nature of career development and how companies now want their employees to work for multiple organizations to upskill and reskill for future growth.
They also emphasized the importance of shared purpose, work-life balance, encouragement, good communication, critical thinking, empathy, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in retaining employees and creating successful organizations.
The webinar was well-received, with participants from 11 countries tuning in to hear the speakers and panelists discuss important topics related to career development and employee retention.
