Video Shows Woman Forced to Deliver on Hospital Floor
A shocking incident in Haridwar in India has exposed glaring lapses in healthcare after a pregnant woman was allegedly forced to deliver on the hospital floor.
The case occurred late on September 28 when the woman, wife of a daily wage labourer, reached Haridwar Women Hospital in severe labour pain.
Her family alleged that instead of providing emergency care, doctors and nurses denied admission, leaving her to collapse in agony on the hospital floor.
Eyewitnesses confirmed she delivered without medical assistance, while hospital staff refused to intervene, sparking outrage over what many call blatant negligence and inhuman treatment.
The attending ASHA worker claimed staff dismissed her concerns, telling her to clean the mess, while also attempting to snatch her recording phone.
That video has since gone viral across social media, triggering public anger and calls for strict action against those responsible for the tragic episode.
This is not the first time such incidents have surfaced in India, despite repeated government claims of improving public healthcare facilities across the country.
In May last year, authorities suspended a medical superintendent and three employees after a probe confirmed a woman delivered outside under the open sky.
A similar episode unfolded in July 2024 when patients were left helpless, and another woman was forced to give birth on a hospital floor.
