World Space Week 2023 Kicks off

The world is going to hold its 24th annual celebration relating to World Space Week 2023 on October 4.
This year marks the 24th annual celebration that will continue from October 4 to 10.
The theme of the World Space Week 2023 is “Space and Entrepreneurship” this year.
Origin of World Space Week
United Nations (UN) started celebrating World Space Week in 1999 in order to commemorate the Oct. 4, 1957 launch of Sputnik.
Sputnik was made by humans for the first time. October 10, 1967, was the signing of the Outer Space Treaty.

Under Space Week, educational space activities and events are held by people in around 100 countries worldwide.
Different themes are chosen every year. WSWA focused on sustainability last year.
Sustainability has become more popular as companies across the globe plan and launch thousands of satellites in space.
This year, the focus remains on private companies that have contributed to boosting the low Earth orbit (LEO) economy.
According to the WSWA website, “‘Space and Entrepreneurship’ focuses on new opportunities for space entrepreneurship and the new benefits, these entrepreneurs can take by investing in the space industry.
Now, with the advancement in space technology, the cost of launching small satellites has come down, providing opportunities for small investors to invest in the space industry.
They can create new products and provide to the governments and industry.
Events for World Space Week 2023
As many as 375 events have been planned for 2023 across the globe.
Different small and big business groups plan to host their activities and they will get registration with the organizations so that they can contribute to global coverage.
Process of Hosting Events
According to the WSWA website, there are four steps to host their events.
Mark your calendar, write down World Space Week, Oct. 4-10, and spread it among your friends
Create the activity regarding any space-related event style in line with your community.
According to the WSWA website, “any activity related to space from a short classroom drawing activity to a stadium-size all-week lecture program. These programs can be designed for any audience that may include the public, employees, government leaders, the media, teachers, or students.”
Market World Space Week: World Space Week aims to raise awareness and therefore it encourages boosting promotional materials about space activities.
Register with WSWA: Finally, you will be required to let WSWA know about the event you have designed. After getting registration, WSWA will provide material to attract attention in the media to raise awareness during World Space Week.
The World Space Week Events’ Examples

If you are interested in such events, you can also get links to activities by NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA) for building spacecraft models (kid-oriented).

Inspiration
The students will get inspiration during World Space Week 2023 to study STEM and business.
It will also help space companies to recruit the workforce to expand commercial operations of their space industries.
It will also work like a forum where different groups of people related to the space industry. They will discuss the transition of Low Earth Orbit.
World Space Week Schedule
The day starts with free planetarium exhibits at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 3:45 p.m.
There will also be shows like “From Earth to the Universe” and “The Sky Tonight,” to cast light on the beauty of the universe.
After the planetarium shows, there will be free telescoping. Different sessions will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on the same day.
An astronomy expert will teach people about constellations.
Iran Celebrates Space Week
The Iranian Space Agency (ISA) is going to hold various programs to celebrate the week.
They will celebrate scientific events from October 4 to 10.
The week will be celebrated in different parts of the country.
