Xiaomi 17T Series to Launch in China on June 8

Xiaomi is set to debut its new 17T series smartphones in China on June 8, marking the first official launch of the T Series in its home market. This announcement follows the global introduction of the Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro models last week.
The Xiaomi 17T series includes two variants, both equipped with the latest Android 16-based HyperOS 3 operating system. However, the devices differ in terms of processor and certain hardware features.
The standard Xiaomi 17T is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset, while the Pro version comes with the more powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor. Display specifications also vary: the 17T features a 6.59-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1,268p, whereas the 17T Pro offers a larger 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and 1,280p resolution.
Battery capacity marks another distinction between the two. The Xiaomi 17T houses a 6,500mAh silicon-carbon (Si/C) battery supporting 67W wired charging. In contrast, the 17T Pro includes a 7,000mAh Si/C battery with support for both 100W wired and 50W wireless charging, ensuring faster and more versatile power options.
Camera setups on both phones follow a similar quad-camera configuration. Each device features a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP periscope telephoto lens capable of 5x optical zoom, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and a 32MP front-facing camera for selfies. However, the primary sensor differs: the Xiaomi 17T utilizes the Light Fusion 800 sensor, while the Pro model benefits from the advanced Light Fusion 950 sensor.
The Pro version also offers enhanced video capabilities, supporting 4K video recording at 120fps and 8K recording at 30fps, appealing particularly to users interested in high-quality video capture.
Xiaomi has released detailed specifications ahead of the June 8 launch, and early reviews of the 17T and 17T Pro highlight their strengths in performance, camera quality, and battery endurance. This launch is expected to bolster Xiaomi’s presence in the mid-to-high range smartphone market within China.
