Speaking at the 2nd National School of Public Policy Conference on Food Security in Lahore today, he highlighted that empowering youth and the involvement of women in the national economy are crucial for the country’s development.
Ahsan Iqbal pointed out that food security represents the greatest challenge currently facing the nation.
He identified the country’s overpopulation as a primary issue affecting food security.
He also noted that Pakistan is confronting several challenges due to climate change.
The Minister remarked that Pakistan is endowed with numerous resources and stressed the urgent need to use these resources effectively and efficiently. Ahsan Iqbal advocated for the adoption of modern technology.
He announced that Pakistan will be sending 1,000 agricultural scientists to China in the coming months to learn advanced cultivation techniques.
