KPK hit hard by Zong’s poor service: PTA

Islamabad: Likewise, of other CMOs in the country, Zong—a subsidiary of China Mobile—is at the second last of the list when PTA—a regulator of the Telecos— surveyed the consumer complaints regarding the quality of service, coverage, and billings issues.
When judged over three services it provides to the consumers throughout its networks, Zong’s service has a poor quality of service and coverage issues along with complaints of overcharging from its poor consumers in all major cities of the country, reveals PTA’s data available with Newztodays.com.

According to data, Zong—the third-largest CMOs in the country—nearly 80% has coverage issues (Non-Provision of Service) in KP, and nearly 40% of the consumers’ total complaints were from KP alone. In contrast, on quality of service and billings issues, the data added that it comprises 15 % and 13 %, respectively.

All three indicators–Zong’s consumer complaints to PTA’s survey–were comprising 15 percent and ranked third. The cities where Zong’s service, coverage, and billing issues were reported in all the country’s major cities were added.
The data further revealed that Zong shows poor service quality in cities like Okara, Karachi, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Islamabad, and Sargodha. In contrast, Zong has non-provision of services (coverage issues) in cities that include Nowshera, Sargodha, Karachi, Charsadda, Faisalabad, and Lahore.
Regarding billing issues meaning overcharging by the Operator (Zong) from its consumers, the data revealed that Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore are facing the problems of overcharging and billing issues.
