90km Multan-Vehari Road Project Nears Completion

The 90-kilometer Multan-Vehari road project is set to be completed by June 30, 2026, according to officials who were briefed during an inspection visit by Multan Division Commissioner Amir Kareem Khan.

During the visit, the commissioner reviewed the progress and quality of construction across different sections of the multi-billion-rupee infrastructure project. Officials informed him that approximately 80% of the project has already been completed, with construction now in its final phase.

The inspection focused on various segments including the Metla Chowk to Tibba Sultanpur stretch, where the commissioner urged contractors and officials to accelerate the remaining work without compromising quality. He emphasized the importance of completing public welfare projects on schedule so that citizens can benefit promptly.

Once finished, the upgraded Multan-Vehari road is expected to enhance connectivity between the two cities by reducing travel difficulties and supporting more efficient movement of transport and trade traffic. The benefits for road users will, however, largely depend on the quality of the road, its drainage systems, and ongoing maintenance practices.

Commissioner Amir Kareem Khan’s inspection reflects the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure in the region, which is vital for economic growth and development. Improved road connectivity is anticipated to facilitate increased commerce and ease transportation for daily commuters as well as commercial vehicles.

Overall, the project aims to address longstanding challenges related to road conditions between Multan and Vehari, contributing positively to the province’s broader road network.
