Moscow launches test of the first Russian made electric Tram
The test of the first Russian-made electric vessels has been started in Moscow. The world’s first electric river tram has already appeared in the Southern River Port of Moscow and passed its first river trials.
In contrast to tourist motor ships, electric river trams will be able to operate all year round, that is why it was essential to test the hull of the new vessel in the cold weather.
According to the statement, river trams are equipped with two electric engines and are able to operate at a temperature from -25 to +40 degrees Celsius. Besides, electric vessels will be charged at the stops to save time between voyages and keep the headways.
At the same time, the engineering and navigation equipment is being tuned. Maneuvers are practiced: turns, mooring to the berths.

This, in turn, will allow to define the possibilities of the new generation of river transport as well as to make sure the transport is safe for passengers, crew, and other vessels on the river.
After the examination of key parameters, the detailed design of the cabin will begin.
