PAC Takes Note of Pakistani Pilgrims’ Problems, Seeks Remedies

Islamabad: The Parliamentary Public Account Committee on Tuesday has taken notice of issues faced by Pakistani Pilgrims who are performing Hajj this year in Saudi Arabia.

He said that the Government of Pakistan is charging one million from one pilgrim and Private agents are taking 3.5 and 4 million.
Despite taking massive amounts, he said that Government and Private sectors both have failed to provide better qualities and added that pilgrims have complained that they have been provided bad quality food, substandard water, and poor transportation during Hajj.
Chairman PAC Noor Alam Khan directed the concerned authorities to take a look at this issue in the upcoming meeting.
However, Noor Alam Khan said that the President of Pakistan, and Federal Ministers are performing Hajj this season, they should visit the pilgrims and solve their issues.
Notably, Chairman PAC also sought details from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) lists of corrupt politicians who have been involved in malpractices and corruption charges.
He directed the investigation institutes to issue a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to those Parliamentarians who are honest, neat, and clean from any kind of corruption charges.
