Routes Altered in Twin Cities Over Security Alert
The Islamabad Traffic Police has announced a detailed traffic diversion plan comprising of alternative routes due to TLP protest in Islamabad.
The alternative routes have been announced in response to the possible law and order situation followed by TLP protest at Faizabad.
According to a police spokesperson, the entry of heavy traffic into Islamabad will remain suspended until further notice to ensure public safety and convenience.
Authorities have suggested multiple alternative routes for small vehicles to help citizens avoid delays and maintain smooth travel between Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
Traffic has been restricted from Rawal Dam Chowk towards Faizabad on both sides, while diversions have been placed at key connecting points.
Motorists travelling from Bhara Kahu, Murree, and Islamabad towards Rawalpindi have been advised to use Park Road, Lehtrar Road, and the Express Highway.
Those heading to the Islamabad International Airport should take Kashmir Chowk and the Srinagar Highway as alternative routes to avoid congestion near Faizabad.
Traffic moving from Garden Flyover and Khanna Pul towards Faizabad has also been diverted, while vehicles from Koral should use Lehtrar and Park Road.

Similarly, traffic from Ninth Avenue and IJP Road towards Faizabad has been redirected through alternative city routes to maintain steady movement across the area.
The police have urged citizens travelling between Islamabad and Rawalpindi to prefer Srinagar Highway, Golra Mor, Rawal Dam Chowk, and Park Road for safe passage.
Residents of sectors F8 to F11 and G10 to G11 have also been advised to reach Rawalpindi via Golra Mor on the Srinagar Highway.
Islamabad Traffic Police has requested citizens to avoid unnecessary travel and stay updated through ITP Radio 92.4 FM and the official WhatsApp channel.
The federal government has also suspended mobile internet services in Islamabad and Rawalpindi due to ongoing protests and growing security concerns.
According to an official letter issued by the Interior Ministry, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi approved the suspension to ensure law and order amid rising tensions.
The order, sent to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, took effect on Friday night and will remain in place until further notice from authorities.
